For 2012, Dr. Chang was selected as a Washingtonian Top Doctor in the field of otolaryngology. This year’s list was published in the March 2012 issue of the magazine.

Dr. Chang a Northern Virginia Top Doctor for 2012

Northern Virginia Magazine published their annual list of Top Doctors for 2012 in their February 2012 edition. Dr. Chang was listed as one of Northern Virginia’s Top Doctor in the field of Otolaryngology (page 72).

Of note, Dr. Chang was nominated by his doctor peers opposed to nomination by a small panel.

Dr. Chang a Castle Connolly Top Doctor

In November 2011, Dr. Christopher Chang was added to Castle Connolly’s list of Top Doctors in America. Apparently, he is the only Top Doctor in the field of otolaryngology within a 30 mile radius.

It’s no surprise given patients travel from as far away as California and even the Philippines to be treated by Dr. Chang.

Dr. Chang Extensively Quoted in Outpatient Surgery Magazine Article

In the August 2011 edition of Outpatient Surgery Magazine, Dr. Chang was extensively quoted for an article describing use of image-guided sinus surgery.

In the article titled “The Benefits of Image-Guided Sinus Surgery,” Dr. Chang described the advantages such technology brings to endoscopic sinus surgery.

Video Made by Dr. Chang Shown on Animal Planet

On July 17, 2011, Animal Planet aired Swamp Wars “Snake Farm Shootout” where a video made by Dr. Chang was incorporated into the storyline. It was a VERY brief segment of this video clip shown about 30 minutes into the show; specifically, the endoscopic image of the back of the nose. Due to copyright, I can’t show the actual video clip. But, here is the video from which the segment was taken.

Dr. Chang Quoted in National Press Release

Dr. Chang has been quoted in a recent national press release regarding the new Sermo iPhone app.

Sermo is a physician only online forum where medical quandaries are discussed and advice requested from physicians by physicians. Dr. Chang was recently contacted by Sermo for an interview regarding the new iPhone Sermo app. In the press release, he is quoted:

“The ability to consult with my colleagues in real-time, from the patient’s bedside or my exam room, addresses an unmet need and will be of tremendous benefit, particularly for urgent clinical cases when I need an immediate response,” said Christopher Y. Dr. Chang Quoted in Nationally Circulated Monthly Magazine

In the June 2011 edition of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery monthly magazine (AAO-HNS Bulletin) delivered nationally to otolaryngologists, Dr. Chris Chang was quoted for a story published on page 43 in an article titled “Technology Offers Physicians Opportunity, Peril”.

In the article, Dr. Chang discusses use of social media including Twitter, Facebook, Blog, and YouTube.

ASHA Recognizes Dr. Chang for His Educational Videos

ASHA, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, recently recognized the contributions that Dr. Chang has provided in ENT videos he has created for educational purposes.

In their recent newsletter on October 12, 2010, an article written by Judith Maginnis Kuster, MS, CCC-SLP, wrote an article titled “Videos on the Web”. On page 24, she wrote:
